How does buying and selling with Sell Me Downs work?

How do I sell my items to Sell Me Down?

We aim to make this process as hassle free as possible.
To sell with us you simply need to complete our online submission form listing your items. As soon as your items are accepted for sale you can either send the items directly to us or we will arrange for a courier (€15 fee) to collect the items from you at your convenience. We photograph and upload all your items so you don’t have to.

How are the items I am selling valued?

This is done on a number of factors: the condition, the age, the cleanliness and the original price. In general, we price items at 30%-80% off the original retail price.

What commission do you charge?

We charge 30% commission of the full price of any item sold.

When will I get paid if my item is sold?

You will be paid on the first day of week of the week 14 days after your item has sold. Please ensure your Sell me downs account contains your correct bank details so prompt payment can be made.

What happens if my item doesn't sell?

If within 3 months your item doesn’t sell we will contact you and you can decide whether to: drop the price, have the item returned or donate the item to charity. Please note that you will be responsible for any shipping costs of returning the unsold item to you.

Do you authenticate items?

We meticulously check all items before it is listed on Sell Me Downs. We do not accept fake or counterfeit merchandise.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept debit and credit card payments as well as Pay Pal.

Can I get a refund?

No, however, you are entitled to a credit note to the value of the item purchased provided that you return the item to us in the condition sold within 14 days of purchase. The credit note will be valid for 12 months from the date of issue.

When Selling an item, how do I get it to you?

Once we have agreed a price, you can either send it directly to us or we can arrange to have it collected from you at a convenient time by a courier for a fee.

COVID 19 - What protocols are being followed to ensure item(s) are safe?

Sell Me Downs follows all government and HSE advice. Our team’s and your safety is our number one priority. All staff wear face masks and gloves and regularly wash their hands. We rigorously clean our packaging facilities and items before they are dispatched.
